When selecting the dog that is right for you, one of the questions that pops up is ‘Should I get a male or a female dog?’
Its imperative to consider because the gender of the dog will define the basis of the relationship between you and your pet.
Deciding on a Male or Female Dog
Typically, a male dog will be more active and aggressive in nature.
While female dogs are typically a bit gentler, less active and will require more attention, regarding food, health etc.
Additionally, when the female becomes pregnant and has puppies, this may put strain on the pet owner since those individual animals will need special attention.
Are you willing to separate the litter from its mother to constrain the strain on resources?
If you are looking forward to possibly expanding your puppy family and looking towards a more gentle type of dog, then a female dog is the way to go.
If you are looking for a more active, lower maintenance dog, then a male dog would be the way to go.
We’d suggest that when you are choosing your dog, you spend a bit of time with female dogs and male dogs to get an idea of which type you prefer and what fits your personality type.
